05 Jul Evin + Ryan | Huntsville Wedding
Most of my wedding planning takes place in Birmingham, but occasionally I have the opportunity to take this show on the road… I love a good destination wedding. When Evin and Ryan first contacted me about helping them plan their wedding in Huntsville, I was thrilled to get to work in the rocket city. The couple both live in Orlando but wanted to celebrate with family and friends in Huntsville because of Evin’s childhood connection to the North Alabama region. They selected Huntsville First United Methodist for their ceremony, and man, what a gorgeous church. Talk about a white chapel! For the reception they chose Baron’s Bluff at Burrit on the Mountain. This venue is beautiful with a wonderful staff and has a fantastic view overlooking Huntsville below. Our guest list for this event was on the smaller side from most of our events but it created a very close-knit intimate celebration that was just lovely to be a part of and witness.
Some of my favorite things from this wedding are the keepsake wine bottle and letter holder that the couple placed future messages to one another into, the personalized ribbon streamers that Evin had done for each of the bridesmaids and then the surprise ribbon streamer I helped Ryan dedicate to his bride to be on her bouquet (“His Everything”… sniff sniff), the purple front doors of the church, the trivia cards and table-top frisbee games during cocktails, the heartfelt toast by Evin’s maid of honor (also her sister), their hip minister who was not afraid to get down and show guests how it’s done on the dance floor, and the “royal wave” from Evin’s mother and sister as the getaway car pulled away… classic!
