27 Apr Kalie + Dakota | Park Crest Wedding

Planning weddings is truly a labor of love for me, more emphasis on the love, due to the sweetest couples I get to design and plan for. And Kalie and Dakota are definitely one of the sweetest couples I’ve had to pleasure to get to know. These two are high school sweethearts and dated all through college… long distance! And to say they are in love is an understatement. After just five minutes with these two, observing how Dakota watched Kalie… I knew these two were serious love birds. Which I adore!

Since these two nurtured a long-distance love, they romanced each other with years of hand-written letters. I’m serious y’all they have stacks and stacks of them. These days that’s most impressive given the age of technology we live in. I just knew I had to find a way to incorporate their love letters into the wedding day. We knew that guests would be leaving them well-wishes in their guestbook so why not allow them the opportunity to leave the newlyweds their very own love letter. Thus the idea of the “Love Letter Table” was born. We incorporated stacks of their actual letters displayed thoughtfully and in case they wanted to pen their favorite scripture we included a bible, God’s love letter to us all. The final touch was to include an actual mailbox for guests to drop their letters into. It was such a sweet setup and will always be a favorite of mine.

Other things I loved about this wedding… the relationships Kalie had with her girls on display throughout the day (the sweetest girls for sure!), the letter exchange during the private moment the couple shared before the ceremony (and that hand kiss from Dakota… so sweet… you’ll see), their custom unity braid, the Oh Happy Daniel dance floor backdrop, the party dance train, and the final song of the night… “All I Want for Christmas”. It was a big celebration for everyone and so joyful to have been a part of. Best wishes you love birds!
