10 Jul Lou Ellen + Christian | Birmingham Wedding at Avon Theater
I’m always excited to share a wedding, but Lou Ellen and Christian’s day was one that I’ll always look back on fondly. Lou Ellen had been a bridesmaid a few times already and knew exactly what she wanted, more importantly what she didn’t want, for her wedding day. She realized that with her work schedule and her mom being out of town that they would need to go with full planning wedding services in order to really enjoy the planning experience. Lou Ellen’s definitive views on most details made our planning decisions go very quickly. Which I loved! The sessions were always a treat for me too because her mom usually showed up with goodies for me and our vendors from their hometown, Decatur. Y’all that town can make some treats!
From the beginning it was clear to me that their marriage was to be very Christ-centered. This was due to the role God had played in bringing these two together and the importance of His presence in the life they want to have with one another. Two ministers from Lou Ellen’s hometown church were invited to guide them through their ceremony and the service included multiple songs and hymns performed by the worship pastor from their church here in Birmingham. Being a music lover at heart, I love to see music play such a big role and this ceremony will always be a beautiful memory for me.
Some of the things I loved about this wedding… the gorgeous calligraphy on the invitations, the pockets on Lou Ellen’s wedding dress, her hand-made cathedral veil that was made to bustle along with her dress (I had not seen this before and was so excited to bustle both before the reception), all the lush greenery used through out the church, the stunning florals in the bouquets, and the cross used throughout the wedding design including the wreaths we repurposed to pillows for the couple’s new home together.
Laura of Jett Walker Photography really captured the love and beauty surrounding this day. I hope you enjoy!
