16 Apr Deanna & Cairo | Bridgestreet Wedding
What happens when a beautiful young woman from Alabama says “yes” to a handsome man from Egypt? You get a gorgeous wedding day celebration that provides a nod to each others lives and heritage. Deanna and Cairo met many years ago online and it wasn’t long before the two fell in love. You can see how deep their love is within just a few minutes of being around them together. The way they look at each other and the ease they feel with one another is truly special.
Helping this couple put together all the details for their wedding was so fun for both myself and the rest of the wedding team. We knew that Cairo’s parents and brother would be traveling to the U.S. from Egypt for the wedding and that we needed to find ways to incorporate some of their culture to the day. I think you’ll see below we hit the mark with just the right touches. And can I just say… this photography by David Bley Storytellers is… well…. stunning!

A golden scarab beetle for good luck and a nod to the groom’s heritage was added to his boutonniere.

The groom’s parents and brother traveled all the way from Egypt for the wedding. His parents did not speak any English but they had such a wonderful time despite the language gap.

The couple was introduced at their reception with the traditional lead in dance known as the Zeffah led by Birmingham’s own Janelle Issis (for you So You Think You Can Dance fans).

The gold containers used for all the table arrangements looked like they had mini golden pyramids all over them. Loved these!
