Getting to plan a wedding day for Katie and Steven was extra special for me. Katie’s Aunt Laura is one of my besties and I’ve known her sweet face for years now. I knew right away when Katie brought her new beau, Steven, to our football tailgates that she was quite taken with him. I got to witness these two in their dating years and so when I was asked to help them plan their wedding day I was thrilled!

Fall in Alabama is a special time of year and the weather on this November day did not disappoint. It was a very lovely day indeed! I hope you enjoy looking through Katie and Steven’s beautiful day beautifully captured by Haley of Photos by Heart and also by the guys of HDX Films at the end. The most surprising thing I learned during planning was…
Her ~ that real life doesn’t stop. There were so many things I wanted to spend more time on, but wasn’t able to because I lacked the time.
Him ~ how many things had to be planned and effort involved.

The most important thing to remember on your wedding day is…
Her ~ to stay in the moment and embrace every fleeting moment.
Him ~ to relax and enjoy it.

My most useful day-of beauty trick was…
Tape… my dress kept catching on the beading on my shoes so we put clear scotch tape over them.

If I could have done something differently, I would have…
Katie ~ nothing, my wedding was everything I’ve ever wanted.

The best gift we received was…
Steven ~ the company of all our friends and family who came near and far to celebrate with us.

Our favorite memory from married life so far is…
Our quality time together. Our trip to Barbados was incredible for this and it was beautiful, which doesn’t hurt either.
