I LOVE the song “Marry Me” by Train and think it is the perfect song to play for the first dance as newlyweds. So when I read about the “Win A Video Greeting from Train on Your Wedding Day” contest in the September 2011 issue of Brides magazine, I just had to write about it and share this super cool opportunity!

This issue also had a great interview with Pat Monahan, lead singer of Train. Thought I’d share his answer to how “Marry Me” came to be.

Q: What’s the story behind “Marry Me”? It’s the perfect first-dance song.
A: My wife, Amber. The very first time we sat and had coffee, in Seattle, I felt as if I could ask her to marry me in that second and not ever regret it. So I thought, Wouldn’t that have been really romantic if that had really been the case? It just takes that moment to feel that that’s the right person. Love at first sight is real. The clichés of life exist because there is some truth to all of them.
